Knowledge Bases

Give the editor a focused research library

Knowledge Bases gather PDFs, Word documents, pasted notes, public web pages, YouTube transcripts, and selected Google Drive files. They can also refer to current Lex documents or folders, keeping background material linked to evolving work.

Separate collections can hold character notes, an outline, research, or earlier chapters. Lex recommends targeted material instead of a whole-book data dump; reusable collections can be combined when a document needs more context.

Style Guides

Build voice guidance from actual samples

Style Guides combine examples of writing with instructions. Lex can analyze attached samples and generate guidance, which the author can use across documents or set as a default for a folder.

Different guides can serve fiction, newsletters, or other kinds of writing.

Line-level Checks

Review suggestions where the words appear

Checks highlight passages for grammar, excess wording, clichés, and clarity. Open a highlight to inspect the suggestion, then accept it, change it, or ignore it. Lex can also explain the reason for a recommendation.

Collaboration and AI access

Collaborate and keep earlier feedback

Share a link to edit together or a read-only link for readers. Named versions save both document text and comments, so a revision can retain the feedback that led to it.

Keep AI access proportional to the project

Free provides 30 Ask Lex messages each day, five saved-prompt runs each month, and a limited processing budget. Pro offers premium model access and larger allowances, with purchase options shown after login.
