Continue from a picture instead of starting over

Gemini can edit a generated image or an upload through follow-up instructions, including changing the background, replacing an object, and adding visual elements. This keeps a useful concept available for further development.

Combine references and change their visual treatment

Multiple supplied images can be combined into one picture. A reference can also guide texture, color, or style, giving character and world artwork a visual source to work from alongside the written request.

These controls support related depictions and revisions, but do not establish reliable identity matching in every result.

Plans, access, and image limits

Use the Pro model for more detailed text-led artwork

The current default generation model is Nano Banana 2. Paid subscribers can redo an image with Nano Banana Pro, which Google documents for additional detail, text rendering, and infographics; that route still depends on the daily quota.

Download the selected artwork or move it into a document

Generated images can be downloaded and exported to Google Docs. That gives a route from visual development into a book-planning document or a separate cover and promotional design workflow.

Account for access and image marking

Model access and usage limits vary across Google’s plans. Google documents invisible SynthID marking and a visible mark for Gemini imagery. It does not claim ownership of generated original content under its terms, but users remain responsible for lawful inputs and use.
