Usage & termsWorkspace hours are sharedExtra subscription hours cost $10

Subscription hours apply to the workspace, not each seat. Additional seats are $25 per month and do not increase included hours.

Pay As You Go provides no AI workspace hours. Subscription overages are $10 per recorded hour.

Automated transcript names, overlapping speakers, and specialist vocabulary still need checking against the recording.

A searchable research transcript

Speaker labels and word timestamps give an interview structure. Follow a passage back to the recording, correct a name or quotation in place, then search across saved transcripts to find related material without replaying every file.

The current service advertises 54+ supported languages. Names, overlapping speakers and specialist vocabulary still need source checking before quotation.

Translate after the source has been reviewed

Sonix translates an existing transcript, so an author's corrections become part of the source supplied to translation. Side-by-side review keeps original and translated text together, and subtitle timings carry into the translated version.

This is a recording-to-transcript workflow, rather than manuscript-file translation. Translation draws on the shared transcription/translation hour allowance.

Export formats and plan allowances

One reviewed transcript, several deliverables

Download text as TXT, DOCX or PDF for research and editing. For an interview video or reading clip, export SRT or VTT captions, use post-production formats, or download an MP4 with styled captions burned in.

Pay for occasional interviews or a regular archive

Pay As You Go costs $10 per recording hour and has no AI workspace hours. Core includes five transcription/translation hours and five AI workspace hours; Advanced has 20 and 25; Pro has 40 and 100. Subscription overages cost $10 per recorded hour.

Recorded requirements and limits

  • Translation starts from a transcript; correcting transcription errors first improves the source supplied to translation.
  • Usage is measured by uploaded recording length. Translation draws on transcription hours, and subscription overages are charged per hour.
  • Check names, quotations, speaker assignments, and specialist terms before using a transcript in published research.
